Silva back in the points as team makes big steps forward
It’s been a positive day for the riders of Avintia Blusens at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix where both Hernández and Silva finished in the points.
Spaniard Ivan Silva has been more involved than ever in the fight of the first five CRT riders, swapping positions throughout the race to eventually take the chequered flag in 14th position and bring home two points for the team.
Raúl Romero (Team Manager MotoGP): “I’m happy with the overall work from the team. It was the first time for us to come here, it’s a difficult track and both riders scored points. During the weekend we did some tests which surely will have positive effects in the next races. We tested a new fairing that will debut in Indianapolis and we completed the race with a new suspension, a fork with a completely different interior and also a new exhaust. It’s really been very positive. Every step we took forward motivated us a lot, because you have to keep in mind that we are competing with a bike made “at home” and although there’s always room for improvement, we are getting closer to the best CRT all the time.”
22 Iván Silva (14º +1 lap): “Getting back in the points is positive and we have to be happy. Obviously I would have liked to finish further up, but we took a good step forward and I felt more comfortable on the bike. During the race I had my pace and a good fight with Edwards, but when we caught up with the guys in front, preparing to get past, Colin passed me and I couldn’t recover the position. Now we have a few days off and we start thinking about Indianapolis.”
