Moncayo to replace Moreno for Indy Grand Prix and return to old team after split with Aspar

 In Moto3, News

Alberto Moncayo will return to the Andalucía-Cádiz Team for the Indianapolis Grand Prix to replace Iván Moreno who is still not at 100% after his crash in the last race, injuring his knee.

Moncayo had taken the title in the Spanish Championship 2009 with the team led by Pedro Machado and was “Rookie of the Year” in the 125cc championship the following season. For the next round at Indianapolis on August 19th he’ll re-join the team after being left without a ride as the Aspar Team replaced him with Jonas Folger.

Having previously competed with the team, it will make it easier for both sides to feel right at home again and fight for the front positions in the Indy Grand Prix where Alberto already showed in the past that he’s able to battle for victory.

Pedro Machado “It’s been difficult days, but in the end everything’s been solved in the best way possible. Iván isn’t at 100% and couldn’t travel to Indianapolis, so we contacted Alberto when we figured he could replace Iván. I’m sure that he can show a great performance, because this has been his team forever and he only has to adapt to the bike to start going fast. For now Alberto will only replace Iván at the next Grand Prix, but we’re looking into the possibilities to integrate him into our team in the future.”
