Confidence boost for Rosell with good progress in tricky conditions
QMMF Racing Team rider Elena Rosell had a good first day at Misano. Despite the lack of grip in tricky conditions and despite the fact that she had to find her way around a track that was new to her, the 26-year-old from Valencia made steady progress, improved from the first to the second session by more than three seconds and now holds 28th place in the provisional standings.
Elena Rosell – 28th in 1.58,158 We had very difficult conditions today. It was raining all day long yesterday and when it drizzled again this morning, I knew that I had to learn the Misano track in the wet. I knew it was going to be difficult and it made me a bit nervous to go out in the rain on a new track with a motorcycle that I was using in only my second race, but then things went quite well and I managed to improve steadily. Of course things will be different again in dry conditions on Saturday, but at least I managed to find the right line around the track behind some other riders and I also got a good feeling for my new bike. There is a lot of room for improvement and what we need most is to do more and more kilometres. It’s a pity that we only have a few races left this season. But I hope to be able to show good progress in the time that we still have!”
