Lack of dry track time and fully using tyre potential main issues for newcomer David Salom

 In MotoGP, News

It wasn’t an easy qualifying for the Avintia Blusens CRT Team at Misano. The three difficult free practice sessions in half-wet conditions affected the work plan of the team, especially that for new rider David Salom who is working for the first time with the BQR machine in the CRT class. The Spaniard lost the practice sessions to get used to the bike and the new category. But still he is very motivated for tomorrow’s race and staying confident.

44 David Salom (21º, 1’40.075 +6.218): “I’m very happy because I make my debut in MotoGP, but it is still a difficult weekend. The weather didn’t allow us to ride dry conditions until today and it’s a shame that I had to use the qualifying session for testing, but you have to keep in mind that this is my first race and that this afternoon was the first time for me to ride the Avintia Blusens bike in the dry.

Tomorrow we’ll test different solutions in the warmup and I can continue adapting to the bike, although I have yet to do many kilometres with it to get to the limit. Using the full potential of the tyres is what I struggle with the most. You have to warm them up a lot and to do well you have to do that in the first lap, but I lack experience. I have to learn fast to do the best possible.”
