Salom held back by bad weather conditions on first day

Constantly changing weather conditions held up RW Racing GP at the Misano circuit in the first practice sessions for the GP di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini. A continuous drizzle made the track wet, but not completely wet. The strong but cold wind helped it to dry out a bit and then the drizzle started again.

Both RW Racing GP riders tried rain tires as well as slicks but by the time the settings of the bike where adapted to the type of tires, the conditions had changed again. This prevented Luis Salom and Brad Binder to set fast lap times.

Luis Salom (15th): “The weather made it difficult today. It was too wet for slicks but not wet enough for rain tires. I tried rain tires but it didn’t feel good. In the end it was not of much use to push hard. There was nothing at stake. It just doesn’t look nice on the time sheets.”

Team manager Johan Stigefelt: “The weather is crap. Nothing works properly, you cannot test anything because it is not dry and not wet. Let’s just hope the weather will be better tomorrow. Wet or dry, but hopefully dry.”
