Cardus remains on the sidelines for home race at Aragon after aggravating his shoulder injury

 In Moto2, News

South African rider Steven Odendaal will once again ride the AJR Evo II Moto2 of the Argiñano Racing Team at the Aragon Grand Prix this weekend.

The team had expected regular rider Ricky Cardús to be back, but he has made his injury worse last weekend when he participated in a charity duathlon.

Ricky Cardús: “The recovery from my injury goes very well, but next up are several races away from home. I don’t want to risk anything with the shoulder. It’s a shame I have to miss this race at home, because I like Motorland, but also Japan and Australia. Good luck to the team.”

Ginés Guirado, sporting director ARG: “We thought Ricky could be back with the team this weekend, but he suffered this setback and we had to react as quickly as possible. Our best option for Motorland is Odendaal, he already knows the bike and the team. We expect that for Japan Ricky will be back from injury.”
