Vazquez, Moncayo and Martin reasonably happy with qualifying efforts

After three practice sessions in wet conditions, the qualifying for the Aragon Grand Prix took place on a drying track.

The JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse riders Efrén Vázquez and Adrián Martín finished in 8th and 19th, respectively. Efrén led the qualifying for quite some time, but in his final attack for pole position he had a little moment which didn’t allow him to improve. But still he’ll start from the third row and expects to do a great race.

Adrián continues to ride with a painful left hand, but despite that he did a great qualifying and tomorrow he hopes to make up many positions.

Alberto Moncayo, rider for the Andalucía JHK T-Shirt LaGLisse Team, qualified 12th and although he didn’t feel comfortable with the setting of the bike, tomorrow he hopes to do a good start and get into the fight with the leading group.

#7 Efrén Vázquez, 8º (2’02.461) “We still needed a little more. I made a mistake at one brake point which made the rear tyre come around and I lost a lot. It’s a bit the problem we’ve been dealing with all weekend. But considering the little time we had in the dry it’s not bad. In general I think we did a good session. If everything goes well tomorrow and we can improve a few things on the bike, I think we can do very well.”

#26 Adrián Martín, 19º (2’03.753) “On the hand I’m very happy, because I’m here and I have to say that the hand doesn’t hurt as much as in the last race. But on the other hand I’m a little frustrated with the grid position, because we can be further up. Keeping in mind that we had only one session in the dry it’s not bad. The setting of the bike still has to improve a little and tomorrow I think I can make up many positions.”

#23 Alberto Moncayo, 12º (2’03.012) “This morning in the wet the feeling was the same as yesterday, but in the afternoon we did a few significant changes on the setting for the qualifying. But those were for wet conditions. Still, I’m happy, because we did a good a laptime and we were ahead for quite some time. Although in the end we couldn’t improve. Tomorrow will be a group race and it’ll be very important to be there.”
