After her track time was cut short by rainshowers in the third pactice session on Saturday morning, Elena Rosell showed determination and speed in the dry qualifying session in the afternoon and managed to leave two other riders behind.

Even though the only lady racer of the Grand Prix world championship still needs to find some more set-up improvements for the race, she is confident to be able to battle with some other riders that have a similar speed and to put on a show for the fans.

“Things went quite well today. We tried to push for a good lap time early on in qualifying like everybody else, because there was the chance of another downpour like in the third free practice session this morning. But the weather stayed fine and we made good use of our track time with several modifications and improvements on the bike, mainly to find more grip. I was also trying to find a smoother and faster line around the circuit. In the end, we weren’t completely happy with the set-up of the bike, so we will try a few more things in the warm-up tomorrow morning and we’ll see if we can make further progress. But once again, we managed to leave two riders behind us and another one is within reach. This is positive and gives us confidence that I’ll be able to make it interesting and to put up a fight!”
