Salom fifth in qualifying, starts tenth due to grid penalty
Luis Salom qualified in fifth – a decent qualifying position – but will have to start from five places further down the grid, in tenth due to the penalty imposed on him in Japan. Salom was still on the old engine. He will get a new one before the warm up.
Luis Salom (5th):
“I had to do even better than my best because of the penalty that puts me five places back. It’s a pity, but I’ll have to go with that. I’m happy with the bike. The issues we had with the chassis and the suspension are well solved. Everything is looking good for the race.”
