Vazquez has podium hopes dashed, finishes eighth
The JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse team had high hopes to step onto the podium in this race. Everything looked very promising after Efrén Vázquez’ good sessions on Friday and Saturday. But even though he spent 23 laps in the group that was fighting for 3rd place, it wasn’t meant to be and he finished 8th. Efrén still holds on to place 10 of the championship and the goal is to confirm this position in Valencia. His team mate Adrián Martín had a good race in which he could overtake a couple of riders to secure 4 more points for the championship. Alberto Moncayo, rider for Andalucía JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse, started really well but a penalty for producing a jump start robbed him of every chance in the race.

I’m very disappointed with the race because I had a great pace all weekend for riding alone, but in the race I noticed that I couldn’t maintain it and I had difficulty to just stay with the group. Towards the end I had problems with the front tyre and to fight for the podium meant taking too many risks. I hope in Valencia we can improve on this to finish the year with a good memory.

At the beginning of the race I felt really good I went really fast. But then I started having problems to keep up the pace I needed and also made a small mistake. This weekend hasn’t gone to plan, we didn’t work to our liking and we went into the race with a lack of pace. But I am content because we scored some points for the championship and surely in Valencia, racing at home, we will do better.
Alberto Moncayo
I went with my instincts at the start and when Salom looked ready to get away I was prepared. It’s a shame because the first couple of laps were really good and even though I had to fight hard to stay with the group in front, I’m sure we could have had a good race. But with that ride through penalty all chances went up in smoke. Today I failed, but overall it’s been a positive weekend. I hope to do better in Valencia.
