Rosell fights hard but crashes out of final race with QMMF Team

 In Moto2, News

QMMF Racing Team rider Elena Rosell tried everything to put up a good show in front of her home crowd at today’s Valencia Grand Prix. She caught up with the riders in front of her, attacked and tried to overtake. But then, on the 18th of 27 laps, she lost the front in damp and difficult conditions and slid off the track. The crash was certainly not what the lady racer from Valencia deserved and expected at the final race of the season, which also meant a farewell from all her friends in the team.

Elena Rosell “It was a very difficult race with very difficult conditions on a damp track. In the beginning, I didn’t have clear references and it took me a long time to find my rhythm. Then I got going and I managed to cut the gap to a few riders in front of me. I finally caught up with one of them, but I couldn’t pass. He slowed right down at mid-corner, so I eventually tried to overtake, but then the front tucked away and I crashed. It’s a real shame, because I was doing good lap times. Now I’m walking away without a result at my home Grand Prix. I want to thank my whole team that made me feel like I was at home this year, and I want to thank my technicians Tom, Simón, Dani, Chris and Xavi especially for all the hard work they have done for me. Now it’s time to think of what’s going to happen next year. I don’t have firm plans yet, because due to the economic situation of our country, it’s not easy to maintain sponsorships or find new sponsors. But I will certainly try everything to find a solution and to continue racing on the highest possible level!”
