Vroom Magazine launches as App on Samsung TVs
Vroom Magazine – the Spanish MotoGP™ riders webzine – has launched as an App on Samsung Smart TVs in the United Kingdom, opening up its niche content to a whole new audience.
Available for free as an App within Samsung’s Smart Hub, alongside viewer favourites like the BBC iPlayer and LoveFilm, Vroom Magazine brings users a rich, enjoyable browsing experience where they can read Vroom’s trademark roster of in-depth Spanish rider news, features and interviews via a slick, branded, visual interface and a clean, easy to use navigation system.
The App has been developed by Vroom Media in collaboration with Connected TV specialists Screen.
Screen’s product manager for Connected TV, Gordon Maynard said: “Screen is delighted to have worked with Vroom to create its magazine application on Samsung Smart TVs.”
“Its application shows how niche content owners can connect with their audiences in a new way, delivering content to Internet-enabled living room TVs.”
Screen’s publishing platform, ScreenConnect, reads content from existing editing systems and allows the creation of services tailored for viewing on smart TVs, tablets and mobiles, smoothing out the problem of creating apps for platforms with different technologies, screen sizes and navigation techniques.
To create the app, ScreenConnect reads data directly from Vroom’s existing WordPress database, allowing the new service to be created without disrupting existing workflows.
Maynard added: “Screen is looking forward to helping Vroom launch services on other platforms in the coming months.”
