The 32nd “Pingüinos” winter bike meeting in Spain – the Concentración Motorista Invernal Internacional – which will take place in Valladolid from 10th to 13th of January, will this year honour former racer and current team boss Sito Pons as well as the brothers Pol and Aleix Espargaró during the event, which hopes to top the attendance from last year when 25.000 cold-resistant “penguin” bikers made their way to the festivities.

Sito Pons, double 250cc world champion in 1988 and 1989, will be honoured with the “Pingüino a la Leyenda” award while Aleix Espargaró will receive a “Pingüino de Honor” in acknowledgement of his great season in MotoGP which he finished as top CRT rider.

His younger brother Pol Espargaró will get a “Pingüino de Oro” for his runner-up spot in the Moto2 championship last season while Spanish TV channel Mediaset will receive the company award for their contribution to the sport with the broadcast of all races.

The winter meeting, one of the best attended in the world, will conclude on January 13th with the presentation of the awards and celebrate its traditional Nochevieja Pingüinera two days prior with a party which will be presented by the commentators Marco Rocha (Tele 5) and Eva Moreno (Cadena Ser-Castilla y León).
