Moncayo makes good progress on final day of preseason testing
It’s been a short day for the Moto2 riders, much like it was on Monday. The riders took advantage of the good weather and knew that at 13.20 o’clock the track would be closed and the teams would pack their things. Alberto Moncayo used his time well and improved his best laptime from yesterday by 0.2 seconds.
Pol Espargaró once again demonstrated that he’s the rider in best shape at the start of the season. The AGR riders Odendaal and Moncayo were a fair bit behind the Spaniard, but got closer to the best Speed Up rider today, losing less than a second on Simone Corsi, which is enocouraging progress at the final test of the 2013 preseason.
In the afternoon the Argiñano-Ginés Racing team used the time to take the official team photos of the season. It’s the final preparations before packing everything up and heading to Qatar. The team is ready and motivated for the new season and looking to do a lot more hard work to progress further.
#17 Alberto Moncayo (26º, 1.46.410, 33 laps):
“A pretty positive day. It’s important that I got up to speed qickly. I’m more familiar with the bike and I’m happy about most aspects. It’s a shame about the chattering – which other riders also deal with, but they go 2.5 seconds faster. But we have to keep calm.
I appreciate the work of all the team a lot. Karlos Argiñano has visited us, we did the team photos and experienced a very warm family atmosphere.”
