Viñales and Carrasco head to Texas with great expectations

After a fantastic debut of Maverick Viñales in the first race of the 2013 Moto3 championship, Team Calvo arrives in Texas with great expectations.
The young rider from Roses achieved a fantastic 2nd place in his first race with the KTM of Team Calvo, despite the fact that he wasn’t 100% fit due to the injury to his right hand he sustained in Jerez in March. This weekend he will be much better and his goal will be to return to fighting for race victory at a circuit that is new to everyone. The Circuit of the Americas has the longest straight of all circuits that host the Moto3 championship (1,200 meters) and the power of the KTM will be the decisive factor.
Maverick’s team mate Ana Carrasco, will tackle her second race as a rider in the world championship with a lot of enthusiasm, following her excellent debut in Qatar where she battled and fought with riders a lot more experienced in the category.

These past couple of days, the finger had time to heal very well and I am looking forward to getting to Austin. After being second in Qatar when I wasn’t fully fit, I received many congratulations, but the one by Jorge Lorenzo was something special. Now we’ll travel to a circuit that’s new to everyone and I think this is something I could benefit from. Also, I saw that there are many straights so that’ll give me a change to relax the finger in between. I already can’t wait for Friday, I want to get on my bike and give it full throttle.

In Qatar I spent the whole race fighting with various riders and I believe the experience I gained there will be helpful this weekend. The good thing is that this circuit is new not only to me but to everyone. But I think the riders with much experience will be able to adapt to it quicker, it’ll be a bit more work for us. But I hope together with the team we’ll do a good job and will be able to improve from the first race.

We’re travelling to Austin with much enthusiasm and hope after the great performance by Maverick in the first race in Qatar. With almost two weeks time to rest, Maverick’s injury has improved a lot, and the whole team will give their absolute maximum to be back on the podium. For Ana it will be a new experience and just like in her first race her main aim will be to gain experience and enjoy riding the bike.
