Viñales and Carrasco ready to fight for victory and points at home
After stopping over in the Middle East and the United States, the Moto3 world championship returns to Europe and commences the third round of the season at the Circuito de Jerez.
Team Calvo rider Maverick Viñales arrives at his first home round of the year standing third in the championship after taking to second places in Qatar and Texas. In Jerez, a circuit that he knows very well and fully recovered from the injury he suffered at this very circuit during the preseason, Viñales hopes to fight for victory again.
His young teammate Ana Carrasco has set the goal to take her first championship points at the Spanish track. In the last race at the Circuit of the Americas she was already on the verge of achivieng that goal and in Jerez she will give everything to make history, being the first female to take points in Moto3.
Maverick Viñales “After the first two races went so well, I arrive at Jerez highly motivated to fight. The team and the bike work to perfection and I think that the finger doesn’t bother me at all anymore. Furthermore, we went very well at Jerez during the preseason and we’ve already done the setup work for the bike. But we can’t rely on that, because many riders were here in the winter and it’s not just the three KTMs in front.”
Ana Carrasco “It was very important to finish the first two races and gain experience. Now we go to Jerez, a circuit I know and where we rode during preseason, but not only us and that’s why it won’t be easy. But in Jerez my goal is to be in the points, I think I have everything to achieve that regarding the bike and the team and I will give everything to do a good race at home.”
