Another difficult race and no points for Simon at Jerez
It’s been a difficult weekend and a difficult race for Julian Simon at his home Grand Prix in Jerez. Coming over the finish line in 17th position he lost out on the points, but is already looking towards Le Mans to try and put the bad memories behind him. It’s a difficult moment for him, but the team is working hard to allow him to show his talent.
Julian Simon (45’49”394 – 17th) “A difficult weekend that ended with a difficult race. I didn’t start well. At the first corner I was too much on the outside and lost several positions. My worst places, all weekend, has been T1 and T4. It’s incredible how the conditions have changed from the test to today. To change the momentum, the first thing to do is to get rid of bad feelings and focus on the work that has to be done preparing for Le Mans. Which is, by the way, a track that I like”.
Pierluigi Aldrovandi (Julian Simon race engineer) ““Our hope was for a better result. In the warm-up we tried a different setting, ad Julian appreciated it. But he told us that in the race his bike didn’t enter the corners as he wanted. We have to work on it”.
