Team Calvo’s motivation is sky-high going into the French GP after their first win of the season by Maverick Viñales. Also, Le Mans was the place where the current championship leader took the top step on the podium 2 years ago, in his debut in the world championship. Certainly the weather conditions will play a major part this weekend, and so far the forecast is not looking good.

But after 3 days of hard training in Almería, Viñales arrives at the French circuit in top form.

For Ana Carrasco, Maverick’s team mate in Team Calvo, Le Mans will be a new challenge. The young rider from Cehegín could not finish the race in Jerez, but the race served as another valuable lesson and to have a good, solid race is the main focus for Le Mans.

Maverick Viñales #25 / @maverickmack25
I am very well prepared for Le Mans. In Almería we worked very hard and we tried different things that should work well for us, not only for this weekend but also for the coming ones. In Le Mans I celebrated my first victory in the championship, and I think it’s a circuit that suits my riding style very well. Therefore I think we can do a good job. Winning in Jerez has given me a lot of motivation and riding in Le Mans gives me even more.

Ana Carrasco # 22 / @AnaCarrasco_22
I am looking forward to get back on my bike. Le Mans is a circuit I don’t know and I only hope that it doesn’t rain so I can get to know the lines well and improve over the weekend. I only know this track from the Play Station, but it looks like fun. In Jerez, the only bad thing was my crash, but I still think we had a good weekend. We’ve got the level to finish in the points. I hope it won’t rain in Le Mans, but if it does, the important thing is to stay on the bike and finish the race.

Pablo Nieto (Team Director) / @pablonieto22
The French GP is always complicated and always depends a lot on the weather because it usually rains a lot. But if we keep working in the same way we have done so far, as well with Maverick as with Ana, I believe it can be a positive race weekend, independently of the weather. Maverick’s win in Jerez was a great boost for the whole team and also Le Mans is a circuit he really likes. Ana just has to continue learning and all her hard work will start paying off soon.
