Ninth fastest for Bautista in Le Mans practice sessions

The black clouds hanging above the Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans held off for the opening two free practice sessions of the French Grand Prix today, allowing Alvaro Bautista to work on his dry set-up and set the ninth fastest time of the day. The Spaniard worked on improving the bike under braking and acceleration but still has plenty of room for improvement tomorrow. This is a new circuit for Bryan Staring and his cause wasn’t helped by electronic problems that he and the team will have to work on tomorrow.

“Maybe today could have gone better but we had some problems getting the bike turned in the hard braking zones this morning. We worked hard to find a solution this afternoon and even though I am not completely satisfied we have some data and some more ideas to try tomorrow. We also need to work with the electronics to improve the traction control and find more speed out of the corners. If we can do that I am confident we can close the gap to the guys in front of us and secure a good position on the grid.”
