Alberto Moncayo finished 17th in today’s French GP at Le Mans, not as high up as he’d hoped but still within the top 20 the team had aimed for. He ran off track in the first lap and had to try and climb back up the rankings.

It didn’t look too promising for the AGR rider and his team mate Steven Odendaal before the race, but hope is the last thing to die and you must never give up the fight. So far, after 4 races, Alberto has not been able to pick up any points, but the feeling on the bike is good. The efforts will now concentrate on the Mugello race in two weeks time

Alberto Moncayo #17 – 17th
I am not satisfied with the result, but I should try to be positive. I ran off track in the first lap, but I was in a group where I know I could hold the position and about half way through the race go faster. I slipped and had to fight back from the last position. It was a battle against myself. I took a step forward but riding solo was difficult. In the end, with the rain starting to come down, I didn’t want to risk too much because the conditions were really tricky. Many thanks to the team, because on Friday we started from very far back, but every time out on track we progressed. Rather than being happy with the result, I’m happy with the work we’ve done this weekend. Let’s see if we can keep this up, we need to improve in the first laps and get into the points. I’m trying to change my riding style to be able to progress and improve during the next championship rounds
