Luis Salom “not 100%” but looking forward to Mugello

After a wet French Grand Prix, the Red Bull KTM Ajo team travel to Tuscany for the latest round of the season, at the Mugello circuit. The team have collected seventeen consecutive podium finishes, stretching back to when Sandro Cortese took second place on the podium in Catalonia last year. With this fact in mind and with the desire to continue a good start to the season, Luis Salom, Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Arthur Sissis get ready for more Moto3 action.
Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Spanish rider, second in the overall standings, arrives at the Italian Grand Prix sore from the heavy crash suffered in the third practice session at Le Mans, but with his condition improving with each passing day. Salom will race this weekend and attempt to continue with the excellent run of results which has made him a regular fixture on the Moto3 podium –with 1 win and 3 further rostrum finishes.
Luis Salom
“Last week I underwent medical examinations to check my physical condition. The crash was a heavy one and I’m still not at one-hundred percent, but every day I feel better. Mugello is a circuit I like. I have not had good results for one reason or another, but hopefully that will change this year. I think the race will be very similar to those we have had so far, although it would not surprise me, due to the characteristics of the track, if we have an extra rider in the lead group.”
