At the Grand Prix of Catalunya, Dani Pedrosa is scheduled to make his 200th grand prix start. Here are some facts and statistics from his grand prix career collated by motogp.com’s statistician Dr Martin Raines…

  • Pedrosa is the 19th rider to reach the milestone of 200 grand prix starts in the 65-year history of grand prix racing
  • At the age of 27 years 260 days Pedrosa will be the youngest rider ever to reach the milestone of 200 GP starts, taking the record from Marco Melandri who made his 200th GP start at the age of 28 years 22 days.
  • During his grand prix career Pedrosa has appeared at 25 different circuits and has taken at least one GP victory at 19 of them.
  • The two circuits where he has had most GP wins, six at each one, are Sachsenring and Valencia.
  • In the 199 GP starts he has made prior to the Catalan GP, he has had 47 wins (23.6% win rate), 116 podium finishes (58.3%) and 43 pole positions (21.6%).
