The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has its charme but no one said it was going to be easy. Unfortunately AGR rider Alberto Moncayo wasn’t able to make a significant improvement during Saturday’s free practice and qualifying session. After FP3, Alberto was 27th in the ranking.

He was making good progress but this development stagnated during qualifying. He’ll start from row 9 of the grid, with the four riders in front of him with very similar times. If he can improve during the warm up, he should be able to battle with them in the race.

In the morning we could improve a couple of problems that we’d had in the tight corners. We couldn’t drop the times by a lot but the feeling improved much. During qualifying I thought I should be able to do better. I wanted to get into the mid 1.44s to be between position 20 and 25, and no doubt we’re close. The bike works well, we just need a couple more tweaks, not more. I hope we can find a bit more grip during warm up and then stick with a faster group during the race.
