Maverick ready to pick up the fight again at Misano
After a well-earned rest following the 3 back-to-back races Maverick Viñales and Team Calvo arrive in Misano for the GP of San Marino with much enthusiasm and ready to continue their fight for the Moto3 crown. There are 6 more races remaining and Maverick as well as the entire team are focused on fighting for victory in each one of them, the first one this weekend in Misano.
Maverick’s team mate Ana Carrasco, will tackle the weekend with the clear goal of improving her qualifying to enable her to climb further up the starting grid. The rider from Murcia believes she’s got the pace to fight for a position in the points, but she always makes it more difficult for herself during Saturday’s qualifying session. She hopes to be able to turn this around in Misano.

I’m very much looking forward to getting back to work with my team and to try and go back to winning races. We’re fighting at the limit and at every race we’re giving 100% and so the good results just have to come. In the past few races we lacked a bit of good luck and we had some problems in the last couple of laps. But I trust the issues have been fixed and we’ll be able to fully push until the end of the race. I like the Misano circuit and I believe we can do very well here.

I trained a lot at home these days to arrive in Misano at full strength. I believe we can improve the results of the last 3 races. I’ve been told the track is complicated and slow in parts. We’ll see how I get on. But Silverstone was one of the most complicated ones and it went ok, so I hope we’ll be able to do well here too. If we find our rhythm quickly, we can go fast in qualifying and try to position ourselves higher up the starting grid. For the race this would mean being where we can and should be.

We’re getting to the GP of San Marino and are entering the finish straight of the championship. There are only 6 more races to go and now every mistake and every victory will be crucial. We have to stay focused and continue working with Maverick and mostly try to make a difference in the final two laps. For Ana it’s be one final opportunity to gain experience before we get to Aragón, which together with Valencia will be the most important race of the calendar. She’s got to try to get into the top 17, and I believe she’s capable of doing that.
