Efren Vazquez signs with Racing Team Germany for 2014
Yesterday, contracts for the upcoming 2014 season were signed between the Caretta Technology – RTG team and Spanish rider Efren Vazquez.
The Spaniard has already been part of the GP circus since 2007. He spent his first year riding in the 250cc class and swapped to the 125cc in the following year. Currently he is riding for Mahindra Racing and ranks 9th in the championship standings.
He got his first podium in Qatar in 2010. At the end of the year he achieved a great 5th place in the championship. 2011 saw him take 7th place overall and last year he was 10th.
The team is looking forward to start working with the rider, as he’s already had some tight battles this season with the team’s current rider Jack Miller.
The team around Dirk Heidolf looks set to receive the second bike from Honda for next season. At the same time this means Honda will have a say in the choice of rider.
An announcement who will be occupying the second bike is expected for the Sepang weekend.
Dirk Heidolf (Team Director)
I’m happy because with Efren we could contract a quick and experienced rider for our team. As usual we’ll do our best to be involved in the fight for the championship crown. We’re looking forward to this new challenge.
