Difficult day of practice as Oliveira tests new Mahindra bike
On the first day of practices in Valencia, Miguel Oliveira tested a completely new bike. Still, he managed the 9th best time of the day in the practice sessions, lapping at a time of 1’41,437s, just over 1 second off the top of the table in the first session. The return to the circuit, where the young Portuguese qualified second last year, was marked by Mahindra tests.
The last race of the season started under sunny skies but in slightly cool temperatures. It is expected for the conditions to stay this way for the rest of the weekend, without the threat of rain. In the second session Miguel wore the helmet designed by Laura Ramos from the Associação Almadense Rumo ao Futuro and while testing further solutions for Mahindra finished the practice in 17th position.
Miguel Oliveira “In the last race I’m using a completely new bike and it is bringing some difficulty to the results. Both the chassis and the engine are new, as well as other exterior components, but we need to put everything in place and make it work. We will now analyze the data collected in both sessions today and find a solution that can make the whole thing work.”
