Guevara makes debut with Aspar Team at Valencia
A flurry of late autumn tests continued today as a handful of Moto2 and Moto3 teams took to the track at Valencia. The track was open from 10am to 5pm with bright conditions in the morning giving way to blustery winds in the afternoon and eventual rain, which brought the test to an early conclusion for the majority. Amongst the new faces on track was Luca Marini, the Italian youngster taking his first Moto3 steps together with the Aspar Team.
Juanfran Guevara also made his debut with the Spanish outfit today although the pair have differing short term plans. The Spaniard will compete with the Aspar Team in the Moto3 World Championship next season, whilst Marini is set to compete next weekend at Jerez in the final round of the Spanish Championship, which he will contest fully next season. Both riders had the opportunity today to complete some laps on the Kalex/KTM and even though it was just a shakedown test both Juanfran and Luca were delighted with the package and with their new team.
Juanfran Guevara: “I am really happy to have been able to test today and to get to know my new crew. I loved riding the Kalex/KTM and it is a world apart from what I am used to riding. The chassis and the engine work really well and I had fun. The team is a big step up for me too. Everybody at the ASPAR Team is very professional, they treated me as if we had been working together forever already and I was given a very warm welcome that made me feel comfortable from the start. I am really happy to join this team and I can’t wait to get back to work in February.”
