Two very positive days of testing for Maverick Viñales & Luis Salom come to an end in Almería
The test at the Andalusian circuit formed the beginning of the pre-season activities for the team around Sito Pons.
Following the obligatory winter break, the Moto2 regulations don’t allow any tests during December and January, the pupils of Sito Pons got back on their Kalex bikes during two days of testing in Alemería. Both Maverick Viñales and Luis Salom continued their learning and adaptation process on their new Moto2 bikes and completed numerous trials over the course of the two days.
Salom and Viñales started the tests in great form as a result of their physical training during the winter break which helped them prepare their bodies for the demands of the Kalex compared to those of the Moto3 bikes.
Viñales completed a total of 155 laps while Salom clocked up 110 laps.

I’m very happy with these two days of testing. I was looking forward to getting back on my Kalex. This winter seemed very long, but it gave us enough time to prepare ourselves well physically and be ready for the start of the season in Qatar. We worked rather well here, now we’ve got the weekend to rest and on Monday we’ll go to Valencia to continue the adaptation process to the new category.

These two days have been very positive, I believe I’ve improved a lot. The two crashed slowed me down a little, but I believe my progress is good and so are the times.
I’ll go into the first IRTA test with a good feeling. To be honest, this team is helping me a lot and they’re supporting me well to improve every time I go out on track. This is very important, because without them I wouldn’t be able to improve on this bike because it’s so different from the Moto3 bike and much more complicated.
