Team Calvo have successfully completed the second IRTA tests of the 2014 pre-season in Jerez. Last year’s championship winning team continued to work hard on the setup of their KTMs and also with their three riders to further support their adaptation before the first upcoming race in Qatar on March 23rd.

While Isaac Viñales already impressed by being in the top ten on all three test days and putting good lap times down on used tyres, the surprise on the last day was Jakub Kornfeil who massively improved his fastest lap and went home as second fastest on the combined time sheet.

Viñales finished in 10th place and still has some work to do with his mechanics to improve the setup on new tyres. Also Eric Ganado continued to adapt to bike and team and made a big step forward with regards to the setup and his confidence on the bike.

Team Calvo now take a break to continue work on the bikes and will return to action at the ultimate pre-season tests which will be held in Jerez from 11th till 13th of March.

These three days have been very positive and we worked a lot of the race pace and tried many different things on the bike. I found a good setup on used tyres and I feel very comfortable, but there’s still some work to do to make me feel better on new tyres. But this is what the tests are for and I believe together with my team, who are very professional, we’ll find this confidence before we get to the first race. After two tests we’re in a very good position and we have to continue the hard work. I’ll now hit the gym again to continue my physical fitness training to be even stronger at the next tests.
