The beginning of the last test day in Jerez was marked by the weather conditions.

The thick fog which hovered over the Andalusian track since the early hours of the morning prevented the riders from going out on their bike until 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The two Pons riders continued to work on their set test plans with their technicians.

Luis dedicated the whole day to trying out different configurations on his Kalex, while his team mate Maverick saw his test schedule interrupted by an unexpected crash which ended his day sooner than planned.

Maverick Viñales – 16th place – 1.43.226
It’s a shame we had to end the day sooner than planned due to my crash. I felt comfortable and I did not expect to crash at that moment. I leave here with a bad taste in my mouth because I couldn’t complete my test schedule, and I’m already wishing for the next test so I can get back on my Kalex. I’d like to thank the team for their commitment and help right from the beginning and for their support to help me adapt to Moto2.

Luis Salom – 21st place – 1.43.389
This was a short day, I couldn’t do many laps. We still suffer from the same technical problem we had in Valencia. We tried different things but it hasn’t improved, I can’t seem to get entirely comfortable. Before Qatar we’ve got three more days here in Jerez when we’ll continue to try and solve this problem. To be honest, we’re at a very crucial point, I’m not there yet and I don’t feel comfortable on the bike, so we have to solve this.
