Isaac Viñales ready to give his best at Qatar Moto3 season opener
Today sees the start of the 2014 Moto3 season in Qatar. From this afternoon onwards the Moto3 riders will be giving it their all during the free practice sessions and on Sunday the first race of the season will take place.
The first GP of the year is always special, because on top of signifying the start of the new season it’s also very spectacular under the millions of watt illuminating every inch of the Losail International Circuit.
Team Calvo is ready to start defending their title, and to stand the best chance to do this they reinforced their team with three new riders who are sure to bring much joy to the team.
Isaac Viñales, Jakub Kornfeil and Eric Granado completed some very promising pre-season tests and they hope to be competitive from the first race on and fight for the top positions.

The pre-season is finished and this week we start another round of races. In Qatar we have to work hard to find the best possible setup for the bike on Thursday. It’s a new circuit for us and we can see if all the work that we pit in during the winter will bear fruits. It’s a circuit very different from the rest, mainly because we race at night and this is a strange feeling. It’s complicated and won’t be easy, but we’ll give our best and will try to race up at the front.
Pablo Nieto (Team Director)
After a very positive pre-season we go into the first race with much motivation. The Qatar circuit is one of the most technical in the world championship, and also it’s the only race that will be held at night. This makes it very different from the rest of the calendar. All in Team Calvo are looking forward to this first weekend a lot because our riders have shown that they can be amongst the fastest, we’ve done some great work and now it’s time to start harvesting the fruits.
