On Thursday the new Moto3 season started in Qatar and Team Calvo was once again one of the key teams.

Two free practice sessions were held under the floodlights of the Losail circuit and the results were very positive for Team Calvo. In the first session Jakub Kornfeil and Isaac Viñales finished in the top three, and also Eric Granado had a good first session.

During the second outing of the day, everyone picked up the pace but this was no problem for Kornfeil who finished second with just 22 thousands behind the fastest.

Isaac Viñales had more problems to find the right setup of his bike, but he was able to hold on to a seventh place. Brazilian Eric Granado finished further down the ranking but he was always in the top 15 which confirms his good progress.

The first session was very good, in the second we had some problems with the setting. But it’s nothing important and with a little more work I believe we can solve it for the next session. We have to improve the chassis a little as the bike moves a lot and I can’t corner as well as I would want to, but that’s nothing to worry about, we can sort the setup out. I worked as a team with Jakub, because riding together we can use each other’s slipstream and that pays off.
