Maverick Viñales was not able to improve during today’s qualifying session, and he saw himself relegated to fourteenth position. This means he’ll go into the race from row five on the grid.

His teammate Luis Salom improved his time by eight tenths compared to yesterday and this allowed him to climb up to seventeenth position. He’ll start the race from row six.

Maverick Viñales – 14th place – 2.01.032
We made a couple of changes on the bike but I didn’t feel very comfortable. This category is very competitive and everyone is really fast. I could not improve my fastest lap but my pace isn’t bad so I hope tomorrow we’ll be able to make good use of the final session before the race to continue working and progressing.

Luis Salom – 17th place – 2.01.124
I’m happy because I could improve my time by more than half a second. The pace is good but I still suffer a lot from chatter. We’ve been trying different things and this improved the situation a little bit but not as much as we would have liked. In tomorrow’s warm-up we’ll try more things and if we don’t find anything better, we’ll go into the race with this setup.
