After a three weeks break following the GP of Qatar Ana Carrasco is back in business. She had to get used to the circumstances and find her rhythm on the first day of the GP of the Americas in Austin, eventually finishing in 30th.

Both RW Racing GP riders had their issues in the free practices in Texas. The first session was cut short for Ana Carrasco due to a technical problem. Scott Deroue suffered a small crash in the second practice, as temperatures rose in the afternoon the track became a bit slippery.

But both of them showed character by coming back stronger and faster afterwards, setting their best lap times in the final minutes of the afternoon session.

“Unfortunately the battery broke down in FP1 in the far end of the circuit. I couldn’t get back to the pits in time to get it fixed and lost valuable track time. In the second practice it went much better, although I noticed I only had half a session under my belt compared to the others who had already found their rhythm. So I had to make bigger steps in one time, which isn’t easy. In the end I found a good group that helped me to set a decent lap time: 6 seconds faster than in the morning! I’m not satisfied yet, but it was only the first day and there certainly is progression.”
