Dorna, COTA and FIM launch KiSS scheme in North America
KiSS (Keep it Shiny & Sustainable) expanded into North America on Friday, with an announcement taking place on the podium at Circuit of the Americas
Attended by Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi as well as Bobby Epstein (Chairman of Circuit of the Americas), Jorge Viegas (FIM Deputy President) and Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna Sports CEO) the event saw the introduction of KiSS to the United States, with the initiative having first been launched at Mugello last June.
Once again, the sole aim remains: to raise awareness amongst MotoGP™ spectators and fans on environmental issues such as the management of waste. Furthermore, a social media contest has been established on Instagram and Twitter.
“I am very proud that the first KiSS event took place at Mugello,” Rossi commented, having presented to Bobby Epstein a silver plate in order to commemorate the latest KiSS event. “It’s very important we spread the word as we expand into North America and that we raise as much awareness as possible with teams and riders about keeping the paddock clean. The social media competition will help only further.”
In addition, four other venues will be welcoming the KiSS programme during their respective MotoGP™ events: Mugello, Barcelona, Aragon and Valencia.
