The Grand Prix circus arrives in France for this weekend’s French GP at Le Mans, featuring all the main classes – as well as another round of the CEV Spanish Championships.

The historic Le Mans circuit holds fond memories for Alex Rins. He placed second there last year and took his first podium at the track in 2012 –braving wet conditions and a fractured finger to do so.

Teammate Alex Marquez rode at the circuit for the first time last season, placing fifth. Both riders tested last week at MotorLand Aragon, with a focus on electronics and chassis development for their Honda NSF250RWs.

Alex Rins
“We face the French Grand Prix with the desire to have a good weekend. We know that up until Jerez we had been chasing Jack Miller at the top of the standings. After last week’s test in Aragon, we will try to be little closer to him, or even overtake him. That is important. Looking at the results of the test, we are more motivated.”

Alex Marquez
“Le Mans is a very peculiar circuit. I think that we can adapt well there. We will be lucky if the rain holds off all weekend, because there is usually at least one wet day there. Let’s hope that it is dry, and that we can set the bike up and find the best way forward. Last year I took fifth there and it is a track that could be good for both me and the bike, so we will try and get our setup down from the first practice onwards.”
