The Le Mans circuit hosted today the first two practice sessions of the French Grand Prix, fifth round of the 2014 MotoGP World Championship: aboard the Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini Honda RC213V, Alvaro Bautista closed today’s combined classification with an excellent third position, behind Championship leader Marc Marquez and Andrea Iannone.

The Spaniard, who showed a serious speed already during the morning session held with lower temperatures, confirmed himself among the fastest riders in the afternoon, improving his best lap time by one second between the two sessions.

ALVARO BAUTISTA (3rd – 1’33″668)
“I’m very happy because we worked very well throughout the all day and this afternoon we managed to improve my feeling with the bike. In the first free practice session the bike was a little too nervous on corner entry, while in the second session we managed to make it smoother. I’ve completed 35 laps with a soft rear tyre and its performance was pretty consistent, so I think that the choice for the race is already quite defined. Now we just have to try to improve slightly our pace”.

FAUSTO GRESINI
“I am satisfied with the work performed today by Bautista and the whole team: we showed a good pace throughout the day and we’re making good use of the data collected during the recent Jerez post-race test, which waw very useful to better understand which direction we need to take for set-up. We are well under way and we want to continue like this, because it will be very important to have a good set up for Sunday’s race”.
