Isaac Viñales lines up 12th on Mugello Moto3 grid

Isaac Viñales had less luck than expected in today’s qualifying at Mugello. After finishing the morning in fifth position, the Spaniard was hoping to find himself in a similar position in the afternoon.

But he got stuck in a very large group of riders and was not able to achieve a position at the top end of the grid. He will fight tomorrow’s GP from 12th place.

Overall the day wasn’t bad, especially the morning. It’s certain that during qualifying we were not able to show our full potential and achieve the desired result, but even though I’m starting from further back tomorrow, I believe with a good start I can be riding in the large group at the top of the field which is sure to form. We have to work a little more on the setup because today it was noticeable that we’d missed a session yesterday. The race will be a little slower, but it’ll be a tough race due to the catching up I have to do, so we have to be strong and give everything.
