Starting positions have been decided after the day’s qualifying sessions in MotorLand Aragón. The oppressive early summer heat failed to affect Quartararo in Moto3™, Raffin in Moto2™-Superstock 600 and Noyes in Superbike, all of whom earned pole positions for tomorrow’s races.

Moto3 was a marvellous demonstration of quality riding: as many as 18 riders beat the existing championship record in this circuit held by Jorge Navarro, who will start from second position on the grid. Ahead and in pole position will be Fabio Quartararo (FRA-Honda), who tore round the track to register an unbeatable best time in the first qualifying session: 1:58.511. Closing out the front row will be Nicolo Bulega (ITA-KTM). Times kept coming down in the second session with Remy Gardner (USA-KTM), Gabriel Rodrigo (SPA-KTM) and Marcos Ramírez (SPA-KTM) filling out the second row.

In Moto2, Jesko Raffin (SWI-Kalex) arrived determined to win, after a clash in Jerez lost him an almost certain podium place. He was the earliest rider on the track this morning, and earned pole position with a superb lap of 1:54.882 at the beginning of the first practice session. He will be joined on the front row by Florian Alt (GER-Kalex) and Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex), who steadily improved during the qualifying laps. Czech rider Miroslav Popov (CZE-Suter), who missed the first race of the season, rode hard to take fourth placed on the grid. Ferrán Casas (SPA-Yamaha), debuting this season, was the quickest Superstock 600 rider. Bertin Thibaut (FRA) and Jorge Arroyo (SPA-Yamaha), as the other outstanding riders, will be keen to challenge him.

In Superbike, after his fall in Jerez, Kenny Noyes (USA-Kawasaki) took his first pole of the season. Robertino Pietri (VEN-Kawasaki), a rider who is consolidating his position in the championship, and Iván Silva will share the front row of the grid. Overall leader Carmelo Morales (SPA-Kawasaki) took fourth place. Fran Rodríguez (SPA-Suzuki) of Team Suzuki Speed Racing, Raúl García (SPA-BMW) of Targobank Motorsport and Fabien Parchard (FRA-Kawasaki) of Basolí Competició were the quickest privateers.

The times of races tomorrow are as follows (local time):
11:00 Superbike (15 laps)
12:00 Moto2-Supertock 600 (15 laps)
13:00 Moto3 (15 laps)
14:00 Superbike (15 laps)
15:00 Moto2-Supertock 600 (15 laps)
