Isaac Viñales has eyes set on Catalunya podium
Once again the heat played a major factor on the second day at the Barcelona GP. But this didn’t stop Isaac Viñales from achieving the goal he had set himself yesterday – a starting position on the first two rows of the grid.
The Team Calvo rider will commence the race from sixth place and he is confident he will once again be able to fight for a podium finish and maybe even his first win in the championship.
#32 Isaac Viñales – 6th place – 1.51.360 / @ISAAC_VINYALES
The morning the rear shock broke and we couldn’t ride much. In the afternoon we went out on used tyres to get the rhythm and then I struggled a little with new tyres. The bike isn’t perfect for riding in the 1.50’s like the first riders, but I’m content because we’re on the second row and that’s the aim we had set ourselves. In Italy we started twelfth, so we just have to tweak the bike a little more. I’m more about the Sunday and here at home with all the fans and friends supporting it’ll be even better, and like in Mugello and Le Mans, I’ll give 100% to get onto the podium.”
