Best ever result for Axel Pons with 8th at Catalunya

In a race with twelve crashes, Axel Pons could avoid all dangers and crossed the finish line in eighth position. This is his best ever race result, and he achieved it with the Argiñano Racing Team.

In his 86th race of his championship career, Pons finished one place better than his previous personal best. Axel is very happy with today’s result because his continuous hard work has finally paid off. He was fighting in a group with four other riders and was the best amongst them.

This is the perfect opportunity to thank the team for all their hard work. They’re fantastic, I’d like to thank them all. It’s been a very complicated race with very high temperatures. I was in a group of five riders and had to fight hard to stay on top. I fought against myself and against the other riders and to lead this group felt great. In Mugello we made a step forward and here in Catalunya another one. Let’s see what we can do In Holland with this pace.
