This Thursday will see the action commence at the mystical track of the Circuit of Assen, the oldest circuit on which motorcycle races have been held since 1949. And unlike any other circuit, the races are always held on a Saturday.

Even though the track has been changed over the years to adapt to the changes in the race bikes, with the length shortened and the layout changed, the essence of the track was preserved. The circuit is very popular with all riders, also with the riders of Team Calvo who arrive in Assen full of motivation.

Isaac Viñales hopes to be able to repeat a podium finish, something which he very nearly achieved in Barcelona but lost on the last lap.

We’ve been working hard on the physical fitness and travel to Assen well prepared. The objective for this weekend is to pull the thorn of the seventh-place finish in Montmelo out and use our motivation to our advantage. I like the circuit a lot, it’s one of the tracks where almost all riders are very fast and the last couple of laps will be “edge-of-your-seat material”.
