Maverick Viñales takes 8th, Luis Salom 15th on Assen Moto2 grid

HP 40 Paginas Amarillas rider Maverick Viñales will start from the third row in Assen whilst teammate Luis Salom – still suffering physical problems – will start from fifteenth position.

In today’s Qualifying for the Moto2 race at Assen, Maverick took the eighth fastest time and will start tomorrow from the third row of the grid for the twenty-four lap race.

After the morning practice session, Viñales introduced a series of changes in the setting of his Kalex that worked very well during Qualifying, achieving a steady pace that gives him optimism for tomorrow’s race.

On the other side of the HP 40 Paginas Amarillas garage, fellow Spaniard Luis Salom has suffered much during the sessions so far. Salom came to Holland still suffering from the injury to his right hand that occurred in the last GP and for which he underwent surgery that only eleven days ago.

Nonetheless Luis takes a hard-earned fifteenth slot on the grid and will start from the fifth row.

I have so much pain in the finger cramps that have come up to my elbow. Yesterday when I got the bike I did not expect so much pain and it’s costing me. The important thing is that I have the pace and tomorrow I’ll do my best. “
