Alex Marquez & Alex Rins ready for second half of 2014
MotoGP returns after a midseason break with the Indianapolis Grand Prix, the tenth round of the World Championship season.
The Repsol riders in the lower cylinder class also return to action in America. Alex Marquez, second in the Moto3 overall classification, will try to continue a positive run which has taken him to within 19 points of the lead.
Teammate Alex Rins is fifth overall and only 5 points behind third place. Rins will be chasing a podium in the US, and also aiming to repeat his win at Indianapolis from last year –now fully recovered from a foot injury. Marquez placed second in the 2013 race.
Alex Rins
“The holidays have gone well. There was time for a bit of everything, including for complete rest for a few days without training. I no longer have any pain in my foot and I feel recovered from the injury, so now we focus on Indianapolis, which is one of my favourite tracks. It brings back good memories, because last year I got the victory there. This year they have changed the layout a bit and it is faster, so we will have to study these changes when we arrive there. I’ve already tried the new layout thanks to video games, because the game this year has been updated.”
Alex Marquez
“Last year I got my first podium in the World Championship at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, so returning to the American track is something special. Besides, it’s a circuit that also suits me pretty well and I really enjoy it. After the summer break I return very motivated and I think that at this stage of the championship we are at a great level. I’ll try to get a good feeling from day one, in order to obtain the best results.”
