Efren Vazquez took his maiden Moto3 victory at Indianapolis this weekend, with a perfectly judged move at the end of the last lap.

The Spanish rider of Saxoprint RTG was already racing well right from the start. Along with Miller, Fenati, Marquez, Rins, he formed the top group – constantly changing positions. In the fourth lap of the Spaniard took the lead for a short time. Then Romano Fenati sat back on top. The following laps provided a constant battle for positions one through seven.

With eleven laps to go Efren was once again leading the field for some time. Fenati then took the lead back.

The last three laps were frantic. At one point Efren was dropped to 6th, then he moved on the last lap behind the leader, Fenati.
On the home stretch Efren went out of the slipstream past the Italian and took the first Moto3 World Cup win of his career.

A great race – and a perfectly judged move to take the win.

In the overall classification he ranks now directly behind Jack Miller, on a strong second position.
