After a weekend in Indianapolis the MotoGP World Championship returns to Europe this weekend for a run of four races in the Czech Republic, UK, Italy and Spain before the long haul trips across Asia and Oceania.

Unlike Indy the Brno circuit is fast and flowing with dramatic changes in elevation that make it one of the riders’ favourite tracks on the entire calendar. Victory for Mika Kallio last Sunday has pulled him to within seven points of his team-mate Tito Rabat, the dominant force in the first half of the Moto2 World Championship.

The MAPFRE Aspar Team travel to Brno full of optimism and determination despite a difficult and tiring trip to Indianapolis. Both Jordi Torres and Nico Terol are hoping for better fortunes on their return to Europe, Jordi with more work to do on his new chassis whilst Nico aims to turn around a difficult period for him at a circuit where he has celebrated victory in the past and where he finished just a second behind the winner last year.

Jordi Torres:
“After the trip to Indianapolis we go straight to Brno for the Czech Republic Grand Prix. Most riders tend to like this track and we go there with a good feeling after a good weekend at Indianapolis. Unfortunately our race was spoiled by a tyre problems but we know it could otherwise have been a strong race for us so we are optimistic of making up for it at Brno. We had a new chassis for the last race and we liked it a lot so we will continue to work with it this weekend. It has a lot of potential and if we can mould its characteristics to suit us I am sure we can find some more pace.”

Nico Terol:
“Brno is a circuit I usually go well at and I had a great race there last year, fighting in the lead group. In the end I finished sixth, less than a second off the win, so this is a great opportunity for us to turn around the difficult period we have been going through. It is a fast and flowing circuit that you have to get right from the very first turn, otherwise you lose a lot of time. It is a wide track with a lot of grip and you need to be smooth to be fast. We didn’t have much luck at Indianapolis but we will keep working hard to find a solution.”
