Fifth and sixth row start for the Páginas Amarillas HP 40 Team
The qualifying of the Czech GP was held this afternoon at the circuit of Brno. Salom as well as Viñales made a series of changes to their Kalex bikes after the morning’s practice session, which unfortunately didn’t bring the desired results.
Luis Salom, who won the Czech Moto3 race last year, had problems with chatter and could not improve his fastest time, which he set on the fourth lap of the session.
Maverick Viñales also had problems with the front end of his bike and just like his teammate he had to settle for a starting position further down the grid than usual.
Both riders have work to do in the morning’s warm-up session to have the best race possible.
Luis Salom – 14th place – 2.03.414
I’ve been having problems all weekend with the front wheel. There’s a lot of chattering. The back wheel also moves but it’s not that bad compared to the problems I’m having with the front. The problem is noticeable everywhere on track and therefore I’m losing much time. We have some work to do in the garage to try and find a solution for this and put it into practice during tomorrow’s warm-up.
Maverick Viñales – 17th place – 2.03.414
It’s been a difficult weekend so far. The first day wasn’t all bad, but the changes we made to try and improve things haven’t brought us good results, quite the opposite. Now I have to work with my team to try and find a solution and have a good warm-up session before the race.
