Efren Vazquez adds points to championship tally in difficult Brno race

Efren Vazquez didn’t have it easy today at the Czech GP at Brno.

The young Spaniard had difficulties to stay at the top of the large leading group, which at times consisted of up to 20 riders. From tenth place, he tried again and again to fight his way further to the front.

But in the end it was more important to safely bring home some points rather than risk it all. After the race on this track that doesn’t really suit him, he slots into eighth place in the overall standings.

“Today was no easy race for us. No easy weekend. In the warm up we tried two different setups to find the best solution. At the end we had the exact same bike as yesterday in qualifying. I think 8 points is good for the championship, just one point behind the second rider. This is the most important. Now we go to Silverstone and will give 100 %.”
