After a welcome weekend off the young Moto3 World Championship riders return to action this weekend at Silverstone, where the difficulties of the longest circuit on the calendar are invariably added to by the unpredictability of the weather.

It is hard to imagine another race in the minor category as exciting as the one seen at Brno, where sixteen riders crossed the line separated by two seconds, but anything is possible in Moto3 and no shortage of men will be staking their claim for the podium this Sunday. Jack Miller remains the man on top of the championship but he cannot afford to look over his shoulder if he is to stay there.

Despite missing out on the points at Brno last time out MAPFRE Aspar youngster Juanfran Guevara once again showed that he has the talent to be a contender in the Moto3 class with another impressive performance.

Guevara stuck it out with the front group throughout the race in the Czech Republic and he believes he has the set-up and the confidence to run with them again at Silverstone.

Juanfran Guevara:
“We have been running at the front for the past three races now and that’s a sign of me getting more comfortable on the bike. I think we are doing a good job with the set-up and being up there with those guys is helping my confidence. The next step is to start thinking about the podium and I would love to be up there before the end of the season. We will keep working hard to make it happen. So far I have struggled to get up to speed on a Friday so we need to change that, which means me adapting more quickly to each circuit and the bike, which doesn’t change much. I like Silverstone because it has a lot of technical sections and I think it could suit our bike quite well.”
