Alvaro Bautista struggles with grip in Misano qualifying
Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista and Scott Redding claimed the 12th and 14th position, respectively, during this afternoon’s qualifying session of the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini, at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
After closing the combined classification of the first three practice sessions in tenth place, thus gaining access to the Qualifying 2, Bautista was not able to go beyond the 12th fastest time and then he will start from the fourth row of the grid tomorrow.
ALVARO BAUTISTA (12th – 1’34″766)
“Today was not good, for sure: this morning we already had a lot of problems and I’m not able to feel the contact of the tyres on the ground, so we are struggling a lot. During the FP4 we tried some set-up solutions which didn’t work, therefore in Qualifying I used the same setting as before. We need to try something which can help me, otherwise I cannot push hard: everytime I try to push, I go straight on corner entry, because it’s vvery difficult to stop the bike in these conditions. Maybe keeping a good rhythm in the race will be easier than make one fast lap, so for tomorrow I hope to make a good start and then fight like I did at Silverstone”.
